Atirsa is fusing mature technologies from graphics, developments over the last 5-10 years in vision, and ongoing research in learning to apply computer vision to applications that are both horizontal and relatively unconstrained. These applications can be generally clustered into functional categories: visualization by humans, automated recognition/identification, and semi-automated navigation.

Solutions sufficient to be horizontal are typically enabled by: (i) combining the aforementioned three areas of graphics, vision and learning, (ii) taking a systems approach to robustness, latency and cost, and (iii) capitalizing on the ongoing improvements in the price/performance of computing, including those allowing for the exploitation of algorithmic parallelizability.

Across applications, Atirsa is using 3D reconstruction as an algorithmic building block to achieve the robustness required for broad commercial applicability.
